Tea Tree

The tea tree is native to Australia, and is cultivated for its oil along the coasts of New South Wales. It has narrow leaves and bears yellow or purple flowers.

The essential oil is one of only a few that have been extensively studied. The results revealed that tea tree oil is active against the tree types of infectious organisms: bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It is also a very powerful immune stimulant, increasing the body’s ability to respond to these organisms.

Tea Tree is also a safe oil to put directly on your skin, like lavender. (I recommend to do patch test first however).

Some great uses for tea tree oil include:

  • put it on insect bites, acne, athlete’s foot, blisters, cold sores, rashes, spots, infected wounds, and so on.
  • gargle with water that has been scented with a few drops of tea tree oil.
  • clean window sills, dresser tops, etc with water that has been infused with a few drops of tea tree oil.
  • add some drops into your vacuum cleaner bag and you’ll have clean air!

Get some tea tree and give it a try.  I promise you’ll like it!
