I use a singing bowl for the ritual at the beginning of each of my treatments and a tingsha bell for the ritual at the end of my sessions.
Several years ago I bought them from a Tibetean refugee who had a table in a Tibetean market in Kathmandu, Nepal. They were made in Tibet and are very old. Both of these items were used in prayers and rituals by Tibetan Buddhist practitioners.
Nowadays, singing bowls and tingsha bells are used in meditation, music and sound healing.
They are made from 7 metals. These 7 metals purify the 7 chakras. Also, one metal corresponds to each one of the planets:
- Gold – the Sun
- Silver – the Moon
- Mercury – Mercury
- Copper – Venus
- Iron – Mars
- Tin – Jupiter
- Lead – Saturn
They help to clear unwanted energy and to activate the 7 chakras, and also their gentle sound helps you relax.
Namaste.
